Anyone have any experience with a product called "super springs"? Setting up my new truck to haul camper, and these look like a great alternative to airbags.

I have SS and would not have anything else. When I was researching before I bought my TC I decided on SS as I did not want to worry about airlines breaking or holes in the bags. Once SS's are on there is no further adjustments to be made. They are easy enough to do so you can install them yourself. If you join the NATCOA www.truckcamperforum.com I think that SS' gives a substancial discount.

No noticiable difference when the SS as they are not engaged when the TC is off. Now with that being said there are two settings and I have mine on the lightest position, so if you put it on the heavier they might be noticable.

I have used SuperSprings on trucks for 10 years. Mostly on snowplow trucks with a salt/sand spreader in the bed. They work great to a point. I like them better than Air Bags. On my current Rig they are not enough. I have SSA15 on my 2005 Chevy CrewCab SRW Diesel, with 2004 Lance 821. I have read and spoken to many people on the topic, and have come to the conclusion that this is the correct way to increase the load capacity of a truck. The frame and spring packs are designed to work together in this configuration. The springs are not designed to work with SuperSprings and the axel and frame are not designed to work with Airbags. When I put my Airbags at 80psi my load feels unstable. When I use Supersprings I get lots of axle wrap under heavy throttle going down the highway. I drive my Camper on the beach in RI and through the woods in VT on a regular basis. In the future I would re-build my springs.

I had airbags on my old truck, I have SS's on this one which is a dually. I love them, much more stable & less porpoising than with airbags. They do raise your rear end a bit when the TC is off truck. I have them in combo with Torklift stable loads, something you can only do on the GM or Chev. You cannot use stable loads & SS's together on a Dodge or Ford. This is because the chev SL's mount on the bottom overload not the top.
