We just got our Lance Camper after searching a year for the right buy. Everything seems to be in top shape except for the Momentary light. I know the bulb is good but this feature does not work. Any ideas?

Thank you for the help, in the end the swtich has to be replaced. Moisture attack at one time or another since it is a little circuit board behind there...

I've been camping in travel trailers for over 30 years however, I'm new to the truck camper world. I recently purchased a 2003 Lance 1161 from a travel trailer dealer that didn't seem to know much about the unit he sold me. (He took in the unit on trade while selling a new 5th wheel.) If I have a momentary light, where would the light fixture be located? I don't think I have one, I know I don't have one that works, but I do have a odd little smooth plate by the left side of the door. Might this be the switch?

I am very new to camping and we bought a used Lance 1161. If you have a little silver plate on the left side of your door then my guess is that is the momentary light switch. If you touch it your light on the outside should come on for a few seconds to give you light to insert the key. I hope this helps...

The first time we looked at the camper, the side light was on when he reconnected the battery disconnect switch. There must have been a short in the switch that kept the light on. When we went back to look at it a second time a few weeks later, I didn't notice if the light was on or not. When we went to pick up the unit they had gone over the unit and replaced the original fixture with a new fixture that has an amber light cover. Mystery solved. I almost had a momentary Light. I don't know if it would be worth the trouble to try and fix it or if the fixture I have now will even work as a momentary light. I suppose the additional wiring required is still there. Thanks for your insight. It wasn't until I found this thread that I ever heard of the feature, it pays to lurk here. Dave
I love this feature because the light comes on long enough for you to slip your key in. I just ordered a new one from Lance for around $45.00 and am waiting for it to get here. They explained to me that it is really a little tiny circuit board and if it gets moisture or wet that would be the end of it. The part number for it is EM350. Good Luck
PS: You are right, I love this site it is a wealth of information...
