Hi all,
I am new to this site and thought I would introduce my self. We recently purchased our first TC a 2002 Lance 820. We intend to use it throughout the year at ski resorts and fishing trips to the coast.
The last owners of our camper installed a crt tv in the tv cabnet and we would like to up grade it to a flat lcd for weight and more storage. I would like to mount it on a wall bracket that will allow us to swing it to either door for viewing from the dinette or the cab over. Just curious what others have done, what size, model, and any other information you feel is needed to make the dicission.
Thanks.

I mounted a portable flat-screen Audiovox TV on the cabinet door that faces the bed, but I reversed the hinges on the door so that the TV faces the dinette when the door is opened. The set-up works well, but I have to say that Paul's set-up, with the TV in the door itself, is a slicker set-up than mine.

Do you have to use an inverter with the LCD TV's or do they make em that work off the 12V.

If so, what wattage inverter is necessary to drive the LCD TV.

Also, how will you handle the digital TV change over..... will the add on converter box now (along with the LCDTV) draw too much from the 12v receptical on the inverter and blow fuses?

I'm thinking about upgrading to lcD as well. I have used the (walmart) 9" 12v portable tv/dvd with out any trouble up to now, but I'm not sure how to integrate the digital convertor with the conventional set up. (I'm not a satellite tv subscriber).

Mine is in the cabinet door itself which may or may not work depending on cabinet orientation. You open the door to watch in bed.

Chad, glad the pics helped. The pod was on there when I bought the TC. I really wanted to take it off but whoever installed it used some kind of glue and it was really stuck. I never used the pod as my knees made it hard for me to climb the ladder, let alone carry something up and down from there. Another reason I moved to a Class C was to get away from climbing up to the bed. I took a couple of falls from up there. I'm still a TCer at heart (that's why I still post here) had a TC since '76, tents before that.

Good luck with your 820, I really liked mine

cYa on the road.

Budster,
great post, that is exactly what I was thinking of doing. I like that roof rack as well, what is it?

I added a swingout mount to the inside of the cabinet using large washers to spread the weight around, it is a 13"

I use a 17" Samsung LCD TV, which fits in the cabinet.
