Several years ago I started looking into buying a Lance 1181 but ultimately went with a large Montana 3400 RL 5th wheel (too big- sold it!). While shopping for the 5th wheel I discovered there are certain Montana dealerships that were known to give "rock-bottom prices" and that you should expect to ALWAYS get at least 20% off MSRP (I got 33% off). My question is does anyone know a Lance dealerships that offer great deals and is there a % off MSRP that one can expect when buying a Lance? I hear and expect good deals "out there" but I can't seem to find one! Thanks!

I bought my 1181 from Adventure RV, they have a couple dealers. We used the one in TN and got a good price as I did lots of shopping around. I don't think much of the after sales service. I do my own service anyway so it did not matter. We traded a used and damaged (water and log truck in Alaska)1161 and still got a good deal. My problem with was that put car batteries in the unit rather than deep cell, they would never make it good. My mistake was not to check everything in detail at delivery.

Thanks for info! I live in Alaska but will be driving back from Virginia this summer so I can make a purchase pretty much wherever I want. Just want to get a great deal, don't mind about extra fuel for out-of-the-way purchase.

Your profile does not state where you are located, however if you are on the west coast Caveman RV (www.cavemanrv.com) is just across the California border in Oregon. It's a small family dealer with great service. Their web site has pictures of their current inventory.
When I bought our 821 from them we did the whole deal over the phone... They had it ready to load when we showed up… I literally pulled into the dealer and backed under the camper! I think the whole transaction took 45 minutes and we were on our way home.
Caveman RV sells a ton of campers to Californians because there is no sales tax in Oregon. California does not require DMV registration on truck campers. With our new state sales tax rate pushing 10% it's well worth the drive!
I don’t know of a set %, but in this economy I'd be shocked if you can’t get at least 20% off of MSRP.
Goodluck with it!
