Did anyone see this article in the RV Business News?

Lance Camper Manufacturing Corp., a longtime truck camper builder, recently made its debut into the conventional travel trailer market with the lightweight 1880 series of trailers. "For many years we needed to get into the trailer market," said Norm Jacobson, marketing director for the Lancaster, Calif.-based company which showed the unit at the recent RV Dealers Convention in Las Vegas. "It's a larger market and right now there is a real need for a top quality, lightweight travel trailer that is relatively inexpensive." The fiberglass and aluminum-framed trailers offer a dry weight of 3,196 pounds and are initially available in five floorplans ranging in lengths from 18 to 26 feet with MSRP's starting around $16,500. Plans are to increase the 1880 line to include six to seven floorplans. Lance said the entire unit is block-foam insulated, a feature carried over from its truck campers, and the exterior offers a clean design that eliminates plastic insert trims. The interior is set off by solid wood, one-piece cabinets that are "easy to replace," according to the company. "

This isn't the first time for Lance to build trailers. I think it was back in the 70s, they built a couple of sizes of very nice little 5th wheels. IIRC, they were about 18' and 22' long and looked very similar on the inside to the truck campers being built at the time. Every once in a while one of the Lance 5th wheels is listed in the RV Trader.

Now if you tell someone you have a Lance, they won't know if you have a truck camper or a trailer. But on the other hand, I have some relatives that always refer to my Lance 920 as a trailer..... Roll Eyes

I saw one of the new trailers yesterday at the Pomona RV show. It seems to be of pretty good quality and was very similar to a Fleetwood Prowler of the same size. Its weird seeing "Lance" written on the side of a trailer, though....
