I hope some one out there can help with this?
I need to know where to tie in the lighting wires from the camper to the truck itself. (1993 F350 Ford dually/2003 Lance 1161). The receptacle I have has all the wires bundled in a single loom. The loom needs to run to the motor compartment. I have no idea where to find the rear tail, stop & backup wires? Anyone out there have this or a similar situation? How did you deal with it? A big THANKS from the Lancelot Hotel |

Having trouble posting, ignore if double posted - maybe this will help
This is how my '96 Lance came from the factory. Holding the plug on the camper, looking into the female terminals, with the plug "notch" at 12 o'clock: 1:00 = not used 3:00 = right turn 5:00 = left turn 7:00 = positive 12 volt (+ battery) 9:00 = back-up 11:00 = running lights (parking lights) center = negative 12 volt (ground) Or: RL NU BU -12V RT +12V LT So the plug in the truck bed is the mirror image. Holding the truck bed plug, looking at the male terminals, with the plug "notch" at 12 o'clock: 1:00 = green (14 ga) - running lights (parking lights) 3:00 = yellow (16 ga) - back-up 5:00 = black (10 ga) - positive 12 volt (+ battery) 7:00 = red (16 ga) - left turn 9:00 = brown (16 ga) - right turn 11:00 = not used center = white (10 ga) - negative 12 volt (ground) Or: NU RL RT -12V BU Truck wiring 1. Running lights = brown wire 2. Back up lights = black with pink stripe 3. Right turn and stop = orange with light blue stripe 4. Left turn and stop = light green with orange stripe I spliced in just below where the Lance connector is (fwd left) The wiring harness runs along inside of frame channel on driver's side below the bed. 1994 Lance 990 (owned since new) on 1997 F350 DRW PSD |

Thanks for the feedback. I was curious if there was a way to do it without running the wires in two directions (they're all in a nice loom). Sound like some need to head to the rear to get spliced in.

What kind of truck do you have?
Does it have a factory trailer wire plug at the rear bumper? You'll have to run the black and white (thick wires) up to the front of the truck to your battery, the rest usually go to the back of the truck to be spliced into the remaining wires (left, right, running, & back up). 2004 Lance 821 2008 Ram 3500 4X4, 6.7L Cummins, Rancho 9000X Shocks, Torklift Stable Load Spring Pads, Firestone Air Bags |

I was lucky enough to have a plug already on the pickup from my last RV, a fifth wheel. If you truck has no wiring, it might be worth it to let a local shop set it up. You need to make sure you have a number ten wire for the hot line to the Converter. Good luck.PG
