Putah Creek Resort
7600 Knoxville Road
Napa CA 94558
707.966.2116

Located on beautiful Lake Berryessa.

55 RV sites, 200 campsites, 26 air-conditioned motel kitchenettes, full marina, tackle shop, grocery, delicatessen, snack bar, restaurant with cocktail lounge and dancing to live music.

RV hookups include; water, electric. Dump station near by, but not at individual sites.

This is a great family boating resort. Well known for water sports, and super clean water. RV sites are available directly across from the boat launch. If you enjoy people watching, these sites are pure entertainment. If you've ever hung out at a boat launch, you know what I'm talking about. Weekday camping is recommended, as the weekends get crowded.

Summertime at Putah Creek is quite hot. Air conditioning is a must here. There is a nice shoreline for swimming. Great big open sky for watching the stars at night. We saw many hawks and eagles pulling fish out of the lake, so fishing couldn't be that bad.

The grocery store has everything you forgot to bring, but watch out... ice will cost you a fortune. There aren't any larger markets nearby, so you're a bit stuck. There are well kept bathrooms, with showering facilities. No charge. The restaurant/bar is fair, and weekends draw quite a crowd. We like to play pool there.

I'll have to get the pictures to LOA to post. This is a great place if you have a boat, or if you want to have a family get together. Tent camping, and motel rooms are also onsite... so there's something for everyone. Bring your "Boraxo/Comet" cleaner, as there are a lot of ants. (don't forget the water hose, and powerbox.)

We'll be there July 11th through July 20th or 21st. Would love to see some of our fellow LOA members.

Back from Berryessa!

Another great time up at the Lake. There was about 50 of us in all. Only 1 other truck camper out there that I saw. The other was an Elkhorn.

Berryessa is a great boating lake. Very very clean (rumor is that it is now the cleanest Lake in California). Big open sky for star gazing. It's not a "directional" Lake, and has lots of offshoots to explore. We took our 1.5 hour tour by boat to get some ice cream over at Steele Park Resort.

In 2008, the Berryessa Land Management is planning on closing down most of the resorts, and returning them back to their natural state. (lots of dried out hills, with an occassional tree) I've heard that they will only allow power boats down by the dam, and that the upper lake will only allow kayaks, and canoes. Mad The group I go with, has been going there for 25+ years.

We'll be there again next year.... July 7th, through the 17th. Love to see some of our fellow Lancers there.

Here's a link from our website with pics from our 2004 trip.
