If you are ever traveling about 40 miles north of Omaha on Hiway 75, you may want to spend the night in the Tekamah, Nebr city campground. I didn't count the number of sites but I think there are at least a half dozen. There are electric hookups, water is available & there is a dump station. The fee is $4.50 per night. I didn't stay there but I did use the dump station & filled my water tank. There was no charge for the dump. You turn off hiway 75, which is the main street thru town, east on "O" street. The dump is located on a road at the southeast corner of the camping area.
It was a quiet, peaceful park when I was there on 4/27/04.

We haven't spent the night at that park; however, there many very nice "RV friendly" city/county parks throughout Kansas, Nebraska, and North/South Dakota. We make it a point to stop over in these parks and buy something in the towns where we stop as a way of saying "Thank you" for the relatively inexpensive use of their facility.

Hauling a Lance camper on our truck compared to "dragging" around a big 5th wheel trailer(been there, done that) or "herding" a big class A motorhome makes it so much easier to locate and use these parks. Another reason we enjoy our Lance!

Yes there are many small towns with camping facilities & they are friendly places. We enjoyed a sandwich at the new Subway in Tekamah & they have a restaurant that has great breakfasts & a little place right where you turn off the main street to the campground that has good burgers & ice cream. They also have a nice grocery store on main st, good for doing some restocking of the pantry.
I even gave a tour of my Lance to a young man who had a trailer in the past & was very interested in my Lance. He said he heard good things about them so I offered him a tour. I think he was hooked.

You describe what we like to do in our travels. We're "non-Interstate highway travelers" and like seeing the real America. We enjoy the rural countryside with small towns and go out of our way to avoid the big cities, crowds, and the usual "tourist traps".

I swore that when I retired there would be no more hotels and airports... 11 years later and I've kept that promise to myself. If six wheels can't get us there (our dually truck), and we can't have our own bathroom, kitchen, and bed (our RV), we're not going!!
