We had planned a trip to the Orange Empire Railroad museum in Perris (www.oerm.org) this past weekend.
To get there a little early we camped at Featherly overnight.
This put us a bout 40 minutes closer to Perris.
The park is nice and clean with lots of open spaces for the kids to ride the bikes and a well equipped play ground. Its right next to a bike path for longer rides.
The down side of this park is also its upside.
The location is right next to the 91 freeway so its not quiet, you hear car and truck noise all day, but as we used this as a early take off point and and not a multi day camp the noise was no big issue.
I thought the price of $29.50 for two adults and $1 for each child was expensive.

We just got a pontoon boat that could be towed behind the lance and need to find some placed with 150 mile radius of Huntington Beach to go play with the boat.

Lake Elsinore is good for the pontoon boat. If you look in the camping section of this website there is a review of the campground there.

The water is a little green kotzen but they tell me it is the good algae.

Back in 1991 I was dying to take out my new Jet Ski so after being turned away from a very packed Lake Perris we went to Elsinore. I had never seen a Lake so green! Eek

Eric is correct. The Algae is good. In fact, the lake really isn't any more polluted than any other lakes in So Cal. It just seems like it from the color of the water. I've actually been thinking about doing some Bass fishing on the lake.

Darin,

The bass fishing on Elsinore is very easy. You just skim the surface with a net and scoop them up. The fish are all floating on the surface on their sides. icon_smile_lachuh
