This year on our annual Summer solstice camping trip we headed to Brietenbush Lake, in the Mt Hood National Forest.
About a mile past the unimproved road not maintained sign, we ran into 2ft snow drifts covering the road. Not prepared for this we decide against going to Brietenbush Lk and settle on Horseshoe Lk, 1/2 back down the road.

We had our choice of the 4 camping spots on the lake and setup camp. Had the lake to our selves all weekend.

Did a litle fishing, hiking and some GeoCache hunting. Weather was in the high 30's most of the weekend with snow showers, your typical early summer weekend in the Cascade mountains(5300' above sea level)

July 1st we head to the Kenai in Alsaka for a couple weeks.(flying up).

Loved the pics, thanks for posting them. My favorite was the "mountaindog" just chilling. We had a foot of snow on Trail Ridge road last night and they reopened it today. They talked to tourists on our news today, it was funny, they weren't prepared for weather. Like the Cascades, it can change at any time.

What is geocacheing? I know you explained it before, but if you don't mind. Have fun in Alaska.

Thanks for the pictures, we are just getting into the rustic camping (not that you can call camping in a Lance rustic). Looks like it was a beautiful weekend.
