We just got back from a 3 day trip to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon.
The nite time temperatures were in the mid 20's. With a few vents and windows open a little, there was no condensation in the camper at all, even with the furnance set at 62 degrees and running a little. We are very pleased with our Lance 1010. If you ever go to the North Rim, there are a few park service campgrounds with water and no electricity. At Jacobs lake,(46 miles from park entrance) there is a full hook up campground called Kaibab Camper Village, it stays open year round. The park itself closes for the season 10/14. If you have never been to the North Rim, I very much suggest it. I finally got around to putting a link in my signature to a picture of our camper and truck with it's new Vision 19.5 wheels, and Michelin 225 tires. you enjoy them. jgaylor 2001 Ford F250 SuperCab, V10, Towing Package, 8 Foot Bed. When I was in college my gilfriend and I backpacked down from the North Rim to the Colorado River and back up again. If I remember, the hike down was 6 miles and dropped 6000 ft in elevation. Hiking back up damn near killed me and I was 20 years old! Now that I have a camper I would love to go back again. Did you stay at the National Park campground? Is it Kaibab?

Here's a suggestion for another North Rim adventure that you can do any time of the year--Try going to the Toroweap (or Tuweep) campground, which is west of the North Rim campgrounds, south of St. George, Utah, and much lower elevation, about 4000 feet. You have to travel 40-60 miles on dirt roads, but not a problem with a Lance camper on a truck. There's a small campground with 9 spaces (I think) about 1/2 mile from the rim, and an even smaller campground with 2 spaces right on the rim. The view is spectacular.
